Established in 2008, the Department of Electrical & Electronics Engineering of the Tirumala Engineering College offers programme leading to Bachelor’s Degree. The four year undergraduate programme leads to the Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering. Since its inception in 2008, the department has been actively engaged in teaching and research in diverse fields of Electrical and Electronics Engineering. In addition to this regular programme, the department is also actively involved in conducting guest lectures, seminars, live projects, continuing education programmes for engineering students.
The laboratories and research facilities in the Department are well maintained and regularly updated. The department is strong with all faculty members holding M.Tech degrees and expertise in various fields. The department of EEE has adequate and well-qualified faculties spanning all major areas of Electrical Engineering like Power Systems, Power Electronics & Drives, Control Systems, and Energy Systems etc. Department is equipped with qualified and experienced Lab Technicians to instruct the students in Lab experiments as well as in live projects. Members of teaching faculty are actively involved in live projects, research and consultancy works.
The entire teaching and non teaching faculty trying to build a Renewable energy based college campus. In this Process, campus installed with 2KWPe Solar Plant, Solar water heaters in campus Hostel building and Entire Street lights with stand alone solar system.
Dr. M. Manoj Kumar is a Professor and Head of the Electrical & Electronics Engineering Department. He obtained PhD in Electric drives from Andhra University in 2019. He received M. Tech in Power electronics & Electric Drives from Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University-Kakinada in 2009, B. Tech degree in Electrical & Electronics Engineering from Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University-Hyderabad in 2006.
He has a teaching experience of 13 years and one year Industrial experience as Graduate Engineer Trainee. Presently he is working as Professor and Head in EEE Department at TEC. His research includes Fuzzy controllers, power electronics control of drives, optimization techniques. He has published 24 National/International Journals & Conferences. His research work has been published in international journals like Springer, Inderscience, etc.., and IEEE international conferences. He is also the reviewer for reputed journals. He is a life member member of ISTE and IAENG.
To become a center for academic excellence in preparing multi-skilled learners in the field of Electrical & Electronics Engineering with global competence as the leading professionals empowered with technical knowledge, innovation research, focus on cutting edge technologies, promoting employability and higher education with socio-ethical and entrepreneurial values for the overall development.

1.Preparation: To strengthen the learners with basic knowledge in concepts of Engineering Mathematics, Applied Sciences and Basic Engineering subjects for problem analysis, comprehend to develop solutions for hardware, software and other tools in the area of Electrical & Electronics Engineering.
2. Core Competence: To enable the learners with core curriculum knowledge in theory and practical experiments of Electrical & Electronics Engineering to develop the innovative skills in design, simulation, investigation of complex problems, critical reasoning, development & testing knowledge for providing solutions to real time problems related to the field of Electrical & Electronics Engineering.
3. Breadth Knowledge: To enable the learners with breadth knowledge to build the professionals in Electrical & Electronics Engineering to lead team work in the fields of generation & distribution of power, electrical machines and skills to develop communication, lifelong learning and aptitude of project management & finance with entrepreneurial values.
4. Advanced Professional knowledge: To adept a system of multi disciplinary approach to develop R&D skills by MOUs with premier industries and institutions interacting with training sessions and industrial visits to the learners to have awareness in latest trends of Power Quality, Non Conventional Energy Systems, etc... to compassionate and lead the escalating needs of society.
5. Career Development and ethics: To drive the learners with the aptitude of competitive knowledge of real time requirement of cutting edge technologies with intellectually adept for promoting employability, higher education by imbibing ethical, social and eco-friendly values.
